The Tree and Me

So a tree fell in the forest
but no one heard it
which means no one
observed it
which means the tree
may not even exist
and what does that
mean for me
here in this house
I rarely leave
rarely seen
rarely heard
so a tree fell in the forest
it could have been me

  1. I read something once that went “If a tree falls and no one is around it see it; it gets back up.”

But concerning your piece, that saying always did bother me for the reasons I interpreted in your writing; what stops us from becoming so invisible that even our existence is has to be validated?
